Approvals
Approvals put a person between the assistant and LinkedIn. In approve mode (the default for new accounts) and assist mode, every write (connection request, message, InMail, comment, reaction, post, endorsement, accepting an invitation) waits for someone to say yes.
Approve in the dashboard
Section titled “Approve in the dashboard”Open Approvals in the dashboard. Each request shows the account, who it goes to and the exact text, for example:
Connection request to Jana Novak, VP Sales at Northwind: “Hi Jana, enjoyed your post on RevOps hiring…”
For each one you can:
- Edit the text, then approve. The edited version is what gets sent.
- Approve as is.
- Reject, optionally with a reason. The assistant sees the job as failed.
- Approve in bulk when a batch looks right.
Approved writes still go through the Governor: they’re sent one at a time, inside the account’s working hours and budgets, so “approved” doesn’t always mean “sent this minute”.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Requests expire after 72 hours. An expired request can’t be approved; ask the assistant to create it again.
- The assistant can’t approve. It can list what’s waiting (
pending_approvals) and tell you, but only a person (in the dashboard or with an API key) can decide. - Some actions never need approval: reads, withdrawing an invitation you sent, and declining a received one (approve mode only; assist mode asks for everything).
- Cancelling a job rejects its pending approvals.
Choosing a mode
Section titled “Choosing a mode”| Mode | Best for |
|---|---|
| approve | New accounts, new reps and new playbooks. You see every message before it goes. |
| assist | Reps who want the assistant to prepare everything and decide themselves, including low-risk actions. |
| autopilot | Teams that trust the outreach they’ve been approving. Limits, working hours and guardrails still apply. |
Change the mode on the account page, or with PATCH /v1/accounts/{id} and {"mode": "autopilot"}.
Approvals from your own tools
Section titled “Approvals from your own tools”GET /v1/approvals lists pending requests; POST /v1/approvals/{id}/approve (optionally with {"text": "…"}) and POST /v1/approvals/{id}/reject decide. See the API reference.
